WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 14, 2021 – Association of American Railroads (AAR) President and CEO Ian Jefferies released the following statement regarding Rep. Garret Graves’ BUILDER Act that would modernize and streamline the NEPA process.

“Freight railroads have long supported modernizing the permitting process while still maintaining critical environmental protections; the BUILDER Act does just that. For the rail industry specifically, it would help expedite routine maintenance to our world-class infrastructure and advance other critical construction projects. AAR supports the measure and thanks Rep. Graves and his colleagues for their commitment to this important issue.”
