The freight rail industry is helping to keep America moving as the nation fights the novel coronavirus.
Rail employees — who are truly cut from a different cloth — are on the frontlines each day doing what they always do — delivering. While those who work from home can, many railroad workers, wearing masks and other protective gear, continue to safely move essential supplies and critical goods. Across the nation, day and night, trains deliver food to stock pantries, electricity to run devices and household goods including cleaning supplies, toilet paper and pet food. Facing unprecedented challenges, rail workers, who always take quiet pride in their work, have stepped up and are delivering for the entire country.
And Americans of all stripes have taken to social media to post words of gratitude and encouragement to the often unsung and unseen heroes of freight rail who show grit and determination each day.
Family & Community Pride
The pride railroad workers feel in their service extends to their families and communities. Their children, spouses and neighbors and show their appreciation for the essential work their loved ones are doing. They know their railroaders are working hard for all of America.
