Hamberger Address Community Impacts of Freight Expansion on Blueprint America Series
The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer with Blueprint America this week aired another installment in its rail infrastructure series: “Down at the Crossroads.” The program examined community impacts related to the Canadian National acquisition of EJ&E. Included were broadcast and online interviews with AAR President and CEO Ed Hamberger and CN’s Vice President Karen Phillips. In his interview, Hamberger highlighted the delicate balance between the environmental benefits of moving more freight by rail and the quality of life impacts of increased train traffic.
