AAR Member Concentration Areas

AAR has designed distinct concentration areas to provide specialized information to Associate and Affiliate members.

  1. Car Service Car Hire
    • All agendas and minutes for the Equipment Assets Management Working Committee that manages all issues associated with car management and car accounting. These materials allow equipment owners to be informed of discussion areas impacting car utilization and compensation.
    • Annual review of equipment trends.
  2. Communication Signals & Train Control
    • Information relating to radio frequency spectrum, including frequency coordination, petitions to the FCC, response to petition to the FCC, and the development and management of wireless communications standards.

    • Access to information resources through Ralinc's Damage Prevention and Loading Services staff.
  4. Environmental, Hazmat and Tank Car
    • AAR comments on environmental issues of significant impact to the rail industry.
    • AAR dockets and minutes from the Environmental Affairs Committee, Tank Car committee, Hazardous Material (BOE) committee NAR Reduction Task and Nuclear Waste Transportation Task Force meetings.
    • Invitation to the Railroad Environmental Conference.
    • Department of Transportation Compliance Inspection of member rail yards and training by BOE inspectors. (Training is limited and determined by gross freight revenue.)
    • Complimentary registration to the Annual Hazardous Materials Seminar.
